Words can’t describe how honored we are to have been visited by President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu on Sunday, August 29th. During a full day of appearances, speeches, and interviews to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the President made time for a tour of Columbia Parc and was also interviewed for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams from block 8 of our community. He and the First Lady visited the home of one of our residents, Maude Smith, and her grandson David Robichaux, Jr. and also took photos with other residents and staff. We are thankful to all of our supporters and friends who helped make this page in Columbia Parc’s history possible. Helping rebuild an important New Orleans neighborhood following Hurricane Katrina has been a privilege and honor for Columbia Residential. See photos from the President's visit below.
