Position Summary

The Resident Services Coordinator provides onsite and community support to residents living at an affordable housing community in the Metro Atlanta Area. The Resident Services Coordinator identifies available community resources to support the varying needs of residents and coordinates residents activities and events focused on increasing family stability and strengthening communities. The Resident Services Coordinator strives to build positive relationships with residents and community partners and ultimately serves as the residents’ guide to accessing new opportunities and remaining stable in their housing.

Job Functions:

  • Conduct a community analysis report including windshield surveys and asset maps to identify community assets and identify community needs within the immediate neighborhood
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate resident on-site and community programs and activities focused on key factors supporting family stability, health and wellness, healthy aging in place, and social engagement
  • Collaborate with fellow Resident Services team members to coordinate and implement large scale annual signature events for residents across entire Columbia Residential portfolio
  • Research and apply for grant funding opportunities to financially support on-site and community resident programs and activities
  • Perform one on one meetings with community stakeholders to identify self-interests and to develop community partner networks; Maintain positive relationships with surrounding neighborhoods
  • Accomplish financial goals by preparing an annual budget, submitting expenditures, analyzing variances, and recommending ways to reduce costs
  • Create monthly electronic newsletter to inform residents about available community resources, services, and activities
  • Provide linkages and referrals to community resources and services requested by residents
  • Collect activity participation data and resident/community survey information to measure the success of resident programs and activities
  • Submit monthly and annual performance data that includes activity, referral, and financial reports to monitor and measure property productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness and compliance with LURA supportive services commitments
  • Advocate for the resident population
  • Maintain a team-focused, positive working relationship with Community Management, without interference into duties or functions associated with management responsibilities
  • Complete any additional tasks determined by the Vice President of Resident Services

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as social work, public health, sociology, planning and economic development, etc.
  • Two-years experience in community organizing and/or social service program development/planning and grant writing. Experience with the affordable housing community.
  • Ability to build respectful working relationships with community stakeholders such as businesses, universities, schools, non-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supportive service providers and available resources for families in the Metro Atlanta Area.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and capacity to adapt quickly and adjust to changing and often challenging environments.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, planning abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experienced in basic administrative functions (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Working Conditions: Duties are conducted primarily in an office environment. It is necessary to conduct home visits, community meetings, and attend resident programs and activities. Work hours may fluctuate and include occasional evening and weekend hours. Light traveling is necessary and includes monthly travel to the Corporate Office for department meetings.
