Donors Needed To Provide Joy and Hope For 100 Metro Atlanta Families During Annual Adopt-A-Family Holiday Campaign
ATLANTA, GA – The holiday season has arrived! While this time of year sparks joy for many, there are also families in Georgia that will not be able to purchase gifts for their little ones due to underemployment and a volatile economy. For those families, the holiday season brings on added stress to make their children’s holiday wishes come true.
For the past three years, Columbia Residential, a leader in the affordable housing industry, has rallied community support for its residents in need by mobilizing a regional Adopt-A-Family holiday campaign spanning the metro Atlanta area. Since its inception, the initiative has served more than 754 children, granting parents the opportunity to select gifts for their children and donors the opportunity to provide financial support.
In 2020, the program went virtual with online wish lists and was a huge success, with 100 families sponsored by generous individuals, foundations, and corporate donors from across the country, bringing joy and hope to several children by fulfilling more than $55,000 worth of wish lists.
Columbia Residential will again present this time-honored tradition to fulfill holiday wishes for 100 Georgia families through December. Monetary donations will be collected through the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Core Connect. Donors and sponsors will have the ability to receive a charitable donation tax deduction for their contributions. “Columbia Residential’s Adopt-A-Family program represents an exclusive opportunity to give back this holiday season by spreading cheer, joy, dreams, and peace,” said Justin Linder, Regional Resident Services Manager for Columbia Residential. “This year, we hope to reach our goal of $30,000 in tax-deductible monetary donations, which will be used to shop for each family’s wish list. Every dollar of every donation will go directly to those families.”
