A large group gathered Friday for the grand opening of The View at NoDA, an Athens affordable housing complex near downtown that was hailed as an achievement to bring attainable housing to the area.

The View at NoDA (the name is a take on North Downtown Athens) is a 120-apartment complex, with rental rate structures that fit a range of financial incomes. Many of the former residents of Bethel are expected to return. The complex was developed through Columbia Residential and Jonathan Rose Companies in a partnership with the Athens Housing Authority and the Athens government.
