In the News: $28M Residential Refresh in Store for Columbia Senior at MLK Village
A large-scale multifamily rehab recently kicked off that project leaders say will preserve more than 120 affordable housing options in the shadow of downtown Atlanta, near MARTA and other amenities.
Officials with Atlanta-based mixed-income developer Columbia Residential and partners Atlanta Housing and Invest Atlanta closed last November on $28.4 million in financing for the renovation of Columbia Senior at MLK Village, a complex nearing 20 years old in the Capitol Gateway neighborhood off Memorial Drive.
The funding will revitalize and ensure the long-term affordability of the 121-unit senior housing community at 125 Logan St. SE, which project leaders describe as “beloved.” It’s reserved for residents age 62 and older.
