In the News: Redeveloped Site Becomes Senior Housing in Georgia

A 90-unit affordable senior housing development celebrated its grand opening in Columbus, Georgia.

Built on the site of the former Booker T. Washington housing complex, which was demolished in 2015, Miles Crossing Senior Residences offers one- and two-bedroom homes to residents 55 and older.

It is the seventh community completed by partners Columbia Residential and the Housing Authority of Columbus, Georgia (HACG).

“Miles Crossing represents the best of what public-private partnerships can achieve,” said Laura Johnson, CEO of HACG. “This community gives Columbus seniors a beautiful, safe, and amenity-rich place to call home—and we are proud to see this important site reborn as a cornerstone of the neighborhood.”
